A SHORT BIO…
KARA LEE BURK began her career as an understudy at The Second City - Detroit, and after performing on and writing for the stage in the Midwest and New York, she moved into writing for TV thanks to the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop and her spec of THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM. She has been staffed on shows from multi-cam sitcoms (ROMANTICALLY CHALLENGED for ABC, MELISSA & JOEY for ABC Family), to animated kids shows (THE MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN SHOW for Dreamworks / Netflix, COSTUME QUEST for Amazon), to many shows based off toys (EQUESTRIA GIRLS, THE LITTLEST PET SHOP, and POLLY POCKET). She has also developed shows with places including ABC Digital, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon, as well as traveled to develop international projects for England, Mexico, Denmark, and Italy. She is currently the Story Editor on RAINBOW HIGH and Executive Producer for THE MINDFUL ADVENTURES OF UNICORN ISLAND. She loves writing for all ages, and is passionate about bringing complex characters to life within stories that have both satire and heart.
